Some pictures I took from our most recent trip to the Huntington (and other things). They've got much of the Chinese Garden built now and I'm getting excited to see it complete. It looks like it will be one of the best ones around.
I really love this picture I took of the C-man. We had taken a jeep ride and hike up into the mountains below Mt. Baldy (Icehouse Canyon). More pictures...

Good friend Ed invited us to dim sum on Sunday so we met him at his house then boarded the Metro in Pasadena for the light rail trip into Chinatown in downtown LA. After stuffing ourselves at Ocean Seafood we walked through downtown to his condo right next to Staples Center. One of the coolest moments that got me to dig out my camera was a stop at the Bradbury Hotel. For those of you in the know this is the place the hotel scenes where filmed in Blade Runner. It's a beautiful place.
My dad's company had reserved a block of tickets to Universal Studios and they had some extras so we packed up and hit the amusement park. Conrad and I had never been and Adrienne hadn't been since they had just opened the Jaws ride (like 30 years). We had a great time. It was too crowded to do much but we vowed to head back on some weekday.
Some Misc pictures from the Month of July. This one was taken at Bolsa Chica State beach. My dad is burying C's feet. A couple of other pictures at the falls at the top of Monrovia Canyon.
A good friend of Adrienne's from the Starbucks crew owns his own plane and took her and Conrad on a plane ride over the San Gabriel Valley. Conrad the sky pirate!

Last Saturday called for a ride to the desert, the Devil's Punchbowl, the San Andreas Fault, and points in between.
Another trip to Chantry Flats on a Wednesday when I played hookey from work. It was just too nice out as you can see from some of the pictures.
Another cloudy and cool day, in fact it snowed on us when we were up near Mt. Baldy in Ice House Canyon. After being chased from the hills we stopped at the main restaraunt in town and gorged on chili, background chatter, and roaring fires in the fireplaces.
On a cloudy and cool day, Conrad and I took off to Clairemont and the Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Gardens. They specialize in local plants and admission is free. Check it out

Conman and I took the Sunday and the Jeep and drove up into Asuza Canyon. My first thought was to hit the OHV area and show Conrad some 4-wheeling. The line to get in though drove me away. Instead we continued on to where they have the road closed another 2-3 miles further up canyon. We parked and hiked up the road another mile or so before cutting down to the river and some ruins.

Conrad and I, feeling recovered from our respective illnesses and drawn by the spring-like weather, headed for the hills. In this case Big Santa Anita Canyon now that the road to Chantry is open again. This picture is taken near first water.

Do something good for yourself. Do something good for others. Do SOMETHING. GO to Amazon, pick up this book and read it. This is an awesome book written by a man who does just that: He does good. Learn about responsibility and commitment, learn about facing fears, learn about waking up to your life. About opening up to the possibilities...
There is nothing wrong with you. Really.
